The ai Corporation have over 16 applications. Most of these came from acquisitions and were legacy apps or built on different code – making it difficult for their developers to fix bugs and improve them. This, coupled with large clients from highly regulated industries, made it challenging for them to ensure applications were in an optimal, modular, and consistent state.
Before ai Corporation engaged with Cloud Direct, they were unhappy with their existing Microsoft Partner. They felt like consumption costs were spiralling out of control and wanted a deeper, more strategic partnership that would help them gain control over their Azure environment and costs.
Cloud Direct worked with The ai Corporation to help them successfully adopt Azure to help drive innovation within the business. Graham Martin, Head of IT Services explained:
It’s very important for our customers that we work with Cloud Direct, and through them have a tighter bond with Microsoft.
They’re our Cloud Service Provider, but they provide a lot more than that as well. They help us build out our infrastructure, provide support for that infrastructure if we need any, helped us adopt Azure DevOps for our development teams and they work on the same scales as we do with a 24/7 support service.
Alongside this, we worked with them to become their strategic IT partner and help gain control of their costs. Nick Walker, Chief Operations Officer said:
The beauty of Cloud Direct is, it’s not just about billing us, they’re also working to reduce the bills. That’s why this is a partnership with Cloud Direct and they’re now an extension of our team.
This year we’re predicting a 10% reduction in our spend on Azure – that’s a big number.
