“Can you transform cloud services into scalable, commercially successful offerings that customers value and teams can confidently deliver?”
As a frontier partner, we grow through great people, smart tech, and teamwork between humans and AI.
The Services Portfolio Manager will own the design, evolution, governance and commercial success of Cloud Direct’s services portfolio, spanning both Managed Services and Professional Services. You will ensure services are clearly defined, commercially viable, operationally ready, easy to sell and continuously improved – connecting strategy, sales, Pre-Sales, delivery, service management and customer outcomes. You will act as the single point of accountability for portfolio clarity and service integrity, aligning teams around a consistent, scalable model that reduces operational friction, improve customer experience and increase the value Cloud Direct delivers through both project-based and recurring services.
A central mandate of the Services Portfolio Manager is to move the full services portfolio from one that is partly capability-led, bespoke and relationship-dependent to one that is clearly packaged, commercially repeatable, operationally controlled and strategically valuable to customers. This includes productising Professional Services offers such as assessments, workshops, implementation packages and project-based engagements, while ensuring a clear path to Managed Services attach where ongoing operation, optimisation or support is required.
The role engages directly with customers on both existing and future offers, ensuring the voice of the customer shapes the portfolio. Operating within the Office of the CTO, the role leads through influence and a cross-functional matrix rather than direct line authority.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Own the Services Portfolio strategy and roadmap, spanning Managed Services and Professional Services, aligned to Cloud Direct’s GTM pillars (Cloud & Data/AI Modernisation, AI Productivity, Security & Compliance) and to Microsoft’s direction of travel; maintain a clear view of what is selling, what is not, and why across both project-based and recurring services.
- Mature the portfolio from capability-led to productised, moving Cloud Direct’s services from offers that are partly bespoke, capability-led and relationship-dependent to a portfolio that is clearly packaged, commercially repeatable, operationally controlled and strategically valuable to customers.
- Productise and govern Professional Services offers, including assessments, implementation packages, deployment services and project-based engagements, ensuring each offer has a clear customer outcome, defined scope, delivery assumptions, commercial model, margin expectation and go-to-market narrative.
- Lead development and innovation across the full services portfolio, including existing Managed Services, Professional Services accelerators and future-state services such as Agent Assurance, FinOps and Alliance services – from concept and business case through to launch – identifying white space in AI-era consulting, implementation and managed service propositions.
- Own the Services Portfolio lifecycle, running a defined review cadence – quarterly portfolio reviews plus an annual strategic deep-dive – that explicitly decides to refresh, retire or replace each offer, and maintaining a single source of truth for lifecycle status, ownership, pricing, margin, dependencies, delivery readiness and planned changes.
- Act as the single point of accountability for service clarity and portfolio integrity, operating as Design Authority for the services portfolio so service designs, deliverables, scope boundaries and supporting artefacts are clearly defined, meet agreed standards and are fit for purpose. This is a matrixed governance accountability without line management of Professional Services or Managed Services delivery teams.
- Own the commercials for each offer – pricing, packaging, unit economics, project margin, recurring revenue potential and gross margin – ensuring the portfolio remains profitable, competitive and commercially coherent across both one-off project work and recurring managed services.
- Define the customer value proposition and positioning for each offer, partnering with Marketing on how Professional Services and Managed Services offers are messaged and taken to market. Marketing owns campaign execution.
- Engage directly with customers on existing and future offers – gathering needs, validating propositions and testing new concepts so the voice of the customer directly shapes the roadmap and ensures offers remain strategically valuable.
- Drive go-to-market and sales enablement, working closely with the Training team, Sales and Pre-Sales so teams can confidently position, qualify and propose both Professional Services and Managed Services through packaged offers, battlecards, pricing tools, qualification guidance, proposal content and standardised statements of work.
- Champion Professional Services to Managed Services attach by influencing Professional Services offer design so projects are built with the management outcome in mind, and embedding a standard “who manages this once it’s live?” consideration at proposal stage – including a framework that helps customers make an informed managed-vs-self-managed choice and captures the management requirement where they elect to self-manage. This is an influence role; commercial quotas remain with Sales.
- Influence partner and platform strategy with the Partner Development Manager, shaping partner selection where partners deliver services on Cloud Direct’s behalf or where partner platforms underpin delivery, to strengthen capability, margin, scalability and customer value.
- Ensure service readiness such that every Professional Services and Managed Services offer is genuinely fit for purpose, supportable, on-boardable and deliverable before launch, working with Professional Services, Managed Services, Customer Transition & Onboarding and relevant operational teams.
- Inform capability and scale planning by giving Professional Services and Managed Services leaders the demand signal and roadmap they need to plan ahead of growth. Delivery leaders retain accountability for delivery execution, resourcing, utilisation, service performance and capacity management; this role aligns portfolio direction, service definition and commercial readiness.
What We’re Looking For:
- Senior-level experience in Managed Services, Professional Services, product/offering management or service-portfolio management within a technology or cloud-based environment.
- Strong commercial acumen including pricing, packaging, project margin, rate-card economics, recurring-revenue economics, gross margin and offer profitability.
- Experience productising consulting, implementation or project-based services into clearly packaged, repeatable offers with defined scope, delivery assumptions, acceptance criteria and commercial models.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end service lifecycles, from offer definition and SOW creation through delivery readiness, transition, operational handover and continual improvement.
- Domain fluency in the Microsoft ecosystem (CSP, Azure, modern work, data/AI and security) and an understanding of the Azure Expert MSP model.
- Go-to-market and sales-enablement capability – turning Professional Services and Managed Services offers into propositions the field can confidently sell.
- Experience shaping customer solutions in collaboration with sales and delivery teams without owning commercial quotas or direct delivery resources.
- Strong stakeholder management and influence across technical, commercial, operational and executive audiences.
- Proven ability to build influence and alignment horizontally across functions (e.g. Professional Services, Managed Services, Sales, Pre-Sales, Marketing, Finance and Partners) without direct authority, securing cross-functional buy-in and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Confident engaging customers directly, running discovery and validation conversations and articulating commercial and technical value to senior customer stakeholders.
- Track record of productising services, turning capability-led, bespoke or relationship-dependent work into packaged, repeatable and operationally controlled offers.
- Experience with service descriptions, statements of work, scope boundaries, pricing tools, cost calculators and delivery-readiness criteria.
- Data literacy – comfortable using portfolio, financial, sales and delivery MI to drive decisions.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in an MSP / CSP, systems integrator, consulting or Professional Services environment and with partner-led service ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Managed Services delivery platforms and service tooling (e.g. Inforcer, Nerdio).
- Familiarity with service design / portfolio best-practice frameworks (e.g. ITIL service portfolio and catalogue management).
- Exposure to delivery estimation, utilisation inputs, project governance, delivery handover and commercial assurance processes.
- Experience operating within a CTO, product, portfolio or strategy-led organisational function.

- Responsible Time Off (Uncapped Annual Leave)
- Fitness Cash Contribution
- Pension Contribution
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave
- Life Assurance, Critical Illness, and Income Protection.
- Birthday lunches, a Fun Fund, and more.
