What you’ll do on the Breakthrough2Cloud programme

Following your initial training, during which you will learn what it’s like to work in a development environment and use an agile methodology to collaborate with cross-functional teams, you will work on dynamic challenges such as the delivery of real-world applications, ranging from web-based to machine learning and data science to quality assurance and cloud technologies.

Then we’ll place you with one of our industry-leading customers where you will work as a fully integrated member of their team. You will put your training into practice and gain valuable experience working on cutting-edge projects, and we’ll be here to support you through every step of your career journey with us.

Beginning your career

Our Breakthrough2Cloud Graduate Programme is open to all candidates, whether you have a STEM degree or not.

Those with a STEM degree

The most common way to pursue a career in Cloud technologies requires a university degree in Computer Science or a related STEM subject, as well as industry-relevant work experience such as an internship. With a STEM/Computing degree, you typically fast-track onto our graduate programme working on exciting customer projects from the get-go.

Those without a STEM degree

If you don’t have a computing degree, our Bridge2Cloud programme is perfect for you. It typically lasts 12-18 months, during which you will focus on the core skills you would have learned during a STEM degree. You’l still work on Cloud projects, but allowances are made as your skills develop. The conversion programme is supplemented with formal training courses and certifications to help bridge knowledge gaps.

Microsoft and Professional Qualifications

Whilst you may have a computing degree or related qualification, it’s important to supplement these with specific professional qualifications that help make your theoretical skills more relevant in the market.

At Cloud Direct, we will support you in focusing on the following Microsoft professional qualifications:

• Microsoft Azure / 365 / Platform Fundamentals
• Microsoft Azure / 365 / Power Platform Developer
• Microsoft Azure / 365 / Power Platform Architect Expert
• Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert
• Microsoft Azure Security Expert
• Microsoft Azure Data Scientist Associate

Do you qualify for Breakthrough2Cloud?

You will need a degree (2:1 or higher, and you’ll need to be an ambitious and driven graduate with a passion for technology. Cloud technology is evolving rapidly and it is most important to have a curious mind, and be willing and able to absorb new skills. You also need to be an excellent communicator and be able to work as part of a team.

The process is rigorous but open to all with no stereotypical pre-conceptions from Cloud Direct.
