Export Destination

Your exported data will be available to download for 7 days, after which the file will be deleted. However, if you would like your Azure Usage data exports uploaded automatically to an Azure Storage blob container of your choice, you can use the Export Destination box to enter a SAS URL which will grant Cloud Direct limited access to that container to upload the files.

  1. Select an existing Azure Storage account, or create a new one if necessary
  2. Select an existing / create a new container where you wish to store the uploaded Provide data exports
  3. Create a SAS token URL for the container and paste it into the Export Destination when creating a new Data Export in Provide

Steps to create a blob storage container SAS URL

  1. Navigate to the desired storage account in your Azure Portal and click on Containers

  2. Click the container name to open the container you wish to use for Provide data exports
  3. Create an Access Policy to apply to the SAS token. (Using an Access Policy is the most flexible option, allowing you to expire the SAS token at any point in the future, if desired, without affecting other SAS tokens created with the same account key)
    1. Click on Access policy
    2. Under Stored access policies, click Add policy and give it a name, e.g. 'Cloud Direct Write-only'
    3. In the Permissions dropdown, select the permission(s) the policy should grant, e.g. Write
    4. Select policy start and end dates according to your preference, and press OK
  4. Click on Shared access tokens
  5. Select Account key
  6. In the Stored access policy dropdown, select the access policy you created in step 3
  7. Click the Generate SAS token and URL button

  8. Copy the generated Blob SAS URL and paste it into the Export Destination box when creating a new data export in Provide
